Starting at Meadow View

We understand that your child’s first days at nursery, or a change to a new nursery, can be a stressful time for parent and child, so we make every effort to ensure the transition goes smoothly.

All new children starting at nursery are entitled to two pre-visits the week before their start date. The first visit is for 1 hour, accompanied by the parent, and the second visit is unaccompanied for 4 hours. This gives your child the opportunity to settle into the nursery on a gradual basis. We will ask for lots of information about your child, for example, whether they use comforters, if like to have a sleep and how long for, if they in nappies or toilet trained, and their food likes and dislikes.

When your child is ready to move into the next room, they will have “visits” prior to the move. You will be given a letter letting you know when the move will take place, and a copy of the new room’s routine. We also ensure that all relevant information about your child is passed on to the new room.

If your child is moving up from Farm View to Meadow View, you will be given a list of their visits. By this age, your child will be far more independent, so visits are tailored to their individual needs. All your child’s paperwork and information will go with them to ensure the move is seamless.

One of our most important aims is to make sure that your child’s journey through nursery is a happy experience, and any changes are seen as welcome and exciting.
