The cooks are happy to acommodate any dietary requirements, including allergies, intolerances and religious beliefs. All members of staff are also aware of any special dietary requirements and a chart dedicated to these is also shown in each room and updated on a weekly basis.
Staff communicate regularly with parents to discuss any new foods being introduced to the child’s diet. We actively encourage children to try new foods.
Drinks are constantly available throughout the day. The intake of drinks is monitored for abnormally high or low intake. Farm View Day Nursery Ltd is a member of the Cool Milk scheme, which entitles all children under 5 to receive free milk each day they attend for two hours or more.
Pre-School children are actively encouraged to serve themselves at meals and with drinks as part of their developmental journey.
Example Weekly Menu:
We are highly committed to encouraging a healthy lifestyle, and our menus are designed specifically to reflect this. We regularly review and update the menus to ensure we keep abreast with new information issued by the Food Standards Agency. They also reflect Jamie Oliver's recommendations. Our food is homemade by our talented and imaginative cooks in our own kitchens, and fresh fruit and vegetables are served daily.
